How to create folders and organize videos in Jumpshare

All about the folders: create new and nested folders, or add, replace, move, merge and duplicate videos.

Create a folder in your library

  1. On the Web app, click the "+Record or Upload" in the sidebar.
  2. Select New Folder from the list. This will create a folder in whichever Library you are currently in.

📌 When you select and upload multiple videos, audios and images, Jumpshare collects them in a folder automatically and opens the folder on the web app for you to rename.


Add more videos to a folder

  1. Open the folder on the web app and click on the  Add Files button on the left sidebar dropdown.
  2. Browse through your computer to select the videos you want.
  3. Click Open to upload them to Jumpshare.

Can I create a nested folder?

Yes! You can create as many nested folders as you like.

  1. Open the folder and use the "+Record or Upload" button to make a new folder.
  2. If you want to add some of the videos existing in the folder into a new one, click on the check box on the left corner of the file.

Merging videos inside a folder

You can merge videos to automatically add them to a nested folder.

  1. Hover over your videos and check the box that appears on the top left.
  2. Check all the videos you want to merge into a folder.
  3. Click on the Merge button on the top right of the window.
  4. Name your folder, and click Merge.

Copy or Move videos between folders

  1. Select the video you want to move and then click on the Copy/Move button that appears on the top right.
  2. Choose the folder you want to copy or move your video to from the pop-up box that appears.
  3. Then click on the Move button. You can copy or move video between your Personal and Team libraries through this as well.

Delete videos or folders

On the Web app,

  1. Hover over your video/folder and check the box in the top left corner.
  2. Head to the Delete button at the top right of the window.
  3. Select Delete from the pop-up that appears to confirm the choice.

On the Desktop app,

  1. Hover over your video till the button with three dots appears.
  2. Click on it and choose Delete from the menu that appears.

What happens if I upload a video with the same file name as another?

Jumpshare allows you to replace your video with a new one without breaking the share link.

  1. To replace a video, upload the same file with the same name and file extension and a popup will appear asking what action you would like to perform.
  2. It will give you three choices - Replace, Duplicate, and Cancel.
  3. Click Replace and it will upload the video and replace the existing version with the new version. You can always access the previous versions of your file from Version History.
  4. If you select Duplicate, it will create a copy of the video with a number to distinguish it from the existing file.
