How to upload a file

All about getting your file into your Jumpshare Library.

The file-uploading feature is available to Jumpshare Plus and Business users. Users can upload files and folders to their Jumpshare library from the web app, the desktop app, and the iOS and mobile apps. Jumpshare can view more than 200 different file formats, so users can upload files of any format and size to their Personal library for further sharing.

How do I upload a file?

From the web app

  1. Find the blue Upload button on the top left of the Jumpshare window and click it.
  2. This will let you browse through the folders on your computer for the file you want to upload.
  3. Select your file and it will be uploaded to your Personal Library.

From the desktop app

If you're on the desktop app,

  1. Click on the Upload File button at the top of the Jumpshare window.
  2. Then browse through your computer in the dialog box and select the file you want to upload.
📌 You can also just drag and drop files/folders into either of your Jumpshare libraries on the web app. If you drag and drop files into the desktop app, they will be uploaded to your Personal Library.

From the iOS/mobile app

  1. Log in to Jumpshare on your iOS app or your browser. It will open your Personal Library.
  2. Tap on the blue + icon that appears on the bottom right.
  3. This will open a menu containing the following options:
    • New Folder: Creates a new folder in your Personal Library.
    • Upload Files: Allows you to upload files from your phone to your Personal Library.
    • Upload Folder: Allows you to upload a folder from your phone to your Personal Library.
  4. Click on Upload Files.

    📌 At this point, you might have to Allow Jumpshare to access the files on your phone.
  5. Browse through your files and select the file you want to upload. The upload will start immediately.

Can I upload folders?

Yeah, you can!

📌 Please note that there is a limit of 50 subfolders when uploading folders. Users will not be able to upload a folder that has more than 50 subfolders in it.

From the web app

  1. Click on the blue + icon on the left sidebar.
  2. Select Upload Folder from the list.
  3. Browse through your computer to select the folder you want to upload.
  4. It will be uploaded to your Personal Library and open in the web app.

From the desktop app

  1. Click on the Upload Folder option at the top of the window. The icon looks like a folder.
  2. Browse through your system to select the folder you want to upload.

From the iOS/mobile app

  1. Log in to Jumpshare on your iOS app or your phone's browser. It will open your Personal Library.
  2. Click on the blue + icon at the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Select Upload Folder from the menu that opens.
  4. Browse through your phone to select the folder you want to Upload. It will get uploaded to your Personal Library.
📌 You can also drag and drop both files and folders together into your Personal library on the Jumpshare web and desktop apps.

Can people send me files without signing up on Jumpshare?

Yes, they can. People who aren't signed up with Jumpshare can send you files through your Jumpshare Inbox.
