Why Didn’t Jumpshare Ask for a Password When I Opened My Locked File or Folder?

If you’ve locked a file or folder but weren’t prompted for a password upon opening the shareable link, here’s why:

You’re Logged In:

  • When you open a locked file or folder from the Jumpshare desktop app, you are automatically logged in to your account on Jumpshare.com.
  • Being logged in allows you to access your own files directly, bypassing the password requirement.

Sharing with Others:

When you share the link with someone else, they will need to enter the password you’ve set to view the locked file or folder.

Testing the Password Protection:

To confirm the password protection is working, open the shareable link in a Private Window or Incognito Mode in your web browser.

By doing this, you can simulate how others will access the locked file or folder and verify that the password is required.
