Jumpshare Screen Recording Not Starting in Windows
There are situations in which screen recording may fail to initiate in the Windows operating system due to various potential reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps to consider:
Audio Device Issues: Your audio device might not be functioning correctly. Try launching the screen recording tool, disabling the audio/microphone, and then recording your screen. Does it work without audio?
Hardware Encoding: Jumpshare’s screen recorder uses Hardware Encoding when available, but this can cause issues on some PCs. Go to Jumpshare Preferences and uncheck the Use Hardware Encoding option. Does the recording work after disabling this?
- Local Folder Permissions: If you've enabled the option to save screen recordings to a local folder, but don't have the necessary permissions, the recording might get stuck at the start. Visit Jumpshare Preferences and uncheck the Save to Computer option. Does the recording work after this change?
- Check Disk Space: Ensure that you have enough disk space available on your C drive.
5. Switch to Fall Back Recorder: If the recording still isn’t working after trying the above options, you can switch to the fall back recorder:
- Open the app preferences by clicking the Jumpshare tray icon, then clicking the menu icon in the top right.
- In the preferences window, press the Alt key and left-click on an empty area in the General tab.
- This will reveal additional options. Switch to the Fallback Recorder option in the Recorder settings, then relaunch the screen recorder.
Hopefully, this will resolve your issue. If the problem persists, please send us the App log file or reach out to us at support@jumpshare.com.
