How to capture a Scrolling Screenshot

You can capture a screenshot of the entirety of a scrollable area with Jumpshare's desktop app. The app accomplishes this by taking multiple shots of the scrollable area and stitching them all together vertically.

📌 This feature is available on both Windows and Mac apps.

Here's how to take a scrolling screenshot:

  1. Launch Jumpshare by clicking the kangaroo icon in your menu bar.
  2. Click on the More option and select Capture Scrolling Screenshot from the menu.
  3. Next, drag to select the scrollable area you want to capture and click Start Capture.
  4. You can enable Auto-Scroll to automatically scroll downwards while Jumpshare shows a live preview of your screenshot on the right. Alternatively, you can scroll manually.
  5. Once you've captured the desired content, click Finish to complete the screenshot.

Best Practices:

  • 🟢 Capture Only the Scrollable Area:

Focus on the scrollable content and exclude fixed or floating elements (e.g., headers or footers).

  • 🟢 Prepare the Scrollable Area:

Ensure the scrollable area is correctly positioned before selecting the Capture Scrolling Screenshot option, and avoid scrolling to the bottom.

  • 🟢 Use Auto-Scroll for Consistency:

For smoother captures, use Auto-Scroll unless you need to capture a small section. You can crop unwanted parts after capture using the annotation tools.

Things to Avoid:

  • 🚫 Don’t Move the Mouse During Auto-Scroll:

Avoid moving the mouse while Auto-Scroll is active, as it may interrupt the capture.

  • 🚫 Don’t Scroll Too Quickly with Manual Scrolling:

Scroll at a steady pace and wait for the preview to update before continuing.

  • 🚫 Don’t Scroll Upwards Manually:

Scrolling screenshots are captured downward, so avoid scrolling upwards during manual capture.
