How to trim your audio files

Our intuitive audio editor - available within our online file viewer for Jumpshare Plus, Business, and Enterprise users - allows you to quickly remove unwanted portions of an audio file in a few easy steps.

How to trim the ends of your audio file

1. Once you’ve opened an audio file in the online file viewer, click the Trim button in the sidebar to the right.

2. A timeline showing the audio file's waveform will appear below along with a number of options. Drag the handles to the left and right of the timeline to adjust when the audio begins and ends respectively.

📌 For added precision, click on a handle and then use the Left and Right arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge it back and forth. Hit the Revert to Original button to start afresh at any point.

3. When you’re done, hit Save Changes to confirm your edits.

How to trim your audio file from the middle

1. Once you’ve opened an audio file in the online file viewer, click the Trim button in the righthand sidebar.

2. Click anywhere within the audio waveform below the playback controls to pick the point at which you’d like to make an edit.

📌 For added precision, click anywhere within the timeline and use the Left and Right arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the scrubber back and forth.

3. Click the Split button below to cut the audio into two parts at the selected timestamp.

4. Click to select a split, then drag the two handles to its left and right to adjust when it begins and ends respectively. Everything outside of the highlighted clips will be removed from the audio.

📌 For added precision, click on a handle and then use the Left and Right arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge it back and forth.

5. You may now repeat the above steps to create even more splits. You may also select any split and hit the Delete Clip button below to remove it from your audio entirely. Hit the Revert to Original button to start afresh at any point.

6. When you’re done, hit Save Changes to confirm your edits.
